It was the late 80's when I first discovered a set of turntables at a friends house
We were just kids and his older brother had gone away for a stay with the Queen... or words to that effect!

I became interested in the hip-hop scene and the turntablists videos you occasionally came across, I began to learn to scratch, cut and chop but then 1990 came and we left Birmingham for the quieter surroundings of idyllic Herefordshire.

For years I didn't see another set of turntables but amassed a collection of mixtapes and began to immerse myself in house music and clubland whilst still at school.
I used to buy Mixmag, DJ mag and Jockey Slut and record local pirate stations and essential mixes whilst listening intently to hear the subtleties of the mix. It wasn't until I left School in 95 I started buying vinyl and within a year I had saved enough for some belt drives.... these were soon gone to be replaced by 1210's and I could now get back to scratching as well as blending varying genres together.

My first gigs soon followed, small local clubs and bars with the odd small festival thrown in.
I was playing regularly and had developed a following so the next step was to buy a club... obviously!

I joined forces with a couple of local friends who also played out and promoted their own nights.
Needless to say, 21 with your own club... well it didn't last long!

Over the following years I was lucky enough to play all over the UK and occasionally further afield including a residency in Ibiza for Eden. This meant guesting and hosting pre parties for some of the biggest brands in the industry. Back in the UK I hosted my own nights where I was lucky enough to play alongside some of the DJ's I spent my teenage years looking up to such as Brandon Block and K-Klass.
My own radio show in Australia was another highpoint as were several guest mixes for UK stalwart, Kiss FM.

So what next?

I hope to get back into the studio again and am looking at donning the promoters hat in the not too distant future...

But first, let's get back to doing what I do best...
Connecting with those on the dancefloor and ultimately keeping them there with a smile
